This is a fossil ivory knife handle with a moose scrimshawed on it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The knife blades are made of Danretic (or D2) from the big round blades used

to cut hugh rolls of paper in paper mills. It can only be cut with a plasma cutter and

comes back to 55 to 58 temper hardness.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The ivory is fossilized walrus tusk from Alaska. It takes 200 or more years for

ivory to lay in the ground and become fossil. Most of it is found along the

coastlines at low tide or dug up by gold miners.

 

The bottom knife has a Damascus blade

The top knife has a Dall Sheep horn handle

 

This knifes handle is made of Elk.
